Chaptelat ist eine Gemeinde mit 2.102 Einwohnern im französischen Département Haute-Vienne in der Region Nouvelle-Aquitaine. Chaptelat ist Teil des Kantons Couzeix im Arrondissement Limoges. Die Einwohner werden Catalacois genannt.Chaptelat liegt etwa neun Kilometer nördlich von Limoges. Der Fluss Aurence entspringt hier. Umgeben wird Chaptelat von den Nachbargemeinden Saint-Jouvent im Norden und Nordwesten, Bonnac-la-Côte im Norden und Nordosten, Limoges im Süden und Osten, Couzeix im Süden und Südwesten sowie Nieul im Westen.
