La Valla-en-Gier ist eine französische Gemeinde mit 1.075 Einwohnern im Département Loire in der Region Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes im Kanton Le Pilat und Teil des Kommunalverbandes Saint-Étienne Métropole. Die Gemeinde gehört zum Regionalen Naturpark Pilat. La Valla-en-Gier liegt etwa zehn Kilometer ostsüdöstlich von Saint-Étienne am Fluss Gier. Umgeben wird La Valla-en-Gier von den Nachbargemeinden Saint-Chamond im Norden, Doizieux im Osten, Colombier im Südosten, Graix und Le Bessat im Süden sowie Saint-Étienne im Westen.
