Sancerre ist eine französische Gemeinde mit 1349 Einwohnern im Département Cher in Zentralfrankreich. Sancerre liegt etwa 150 m höher als die nahe gelegene Loire und der Loire-Seitenkanal auf einem Hügel und ist dadurch von weit her sichtbar. Der Ort ist rund 40 km von den Städten Bourges und Nevers entfernt. Die Gegend um Sancerre ist für ihren Käse und ihren Wein bekannt.
