Moustey ist eine französische Gemeinde mit 674 Einwohnern im Département Landes in der Region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . Die Gemeinde gehört zum Arrondissement Mont-de-Marsan und zum Kanton Grands Lacs .Der Name in der gascognischen Sprache lautet Mosteir. Er geht vermutlich auf den Namen eines Anwesens zurück, das sich aus dem lateinischen Wort muscardu und dem aquitanischen Suffix -itz zusammensetzt. Eine andere Theorie besagt, dass der Name aus dem altfranzösischen moustier hervorging, das sich wiederum aus dem vulgärlateinischen monasterium entwickelte.
