Der größte Bogen der Welt wurde von Napoleon I. in Auftrag gegeben, um den Triumph seiner Armeen in der Schlacht von Austerlitz zu feiern. Er wurde zwischen 1806 und 1836 errichtet. Seit 1921 beherbergt er das Grab des Unbekannten Soldaten, dessen Erinnerungsflamme jeden Abend neu entzündet wird. Der Panoramablick von der Dachterrasse auf die Hauptstadt ist atemberaubend.
