Verborgen unter der Erde im nordfranzösischen Weiler Landrethun-le-Nord verbarg sich eine Waffe, die direkt das Herz der britischen Hauptstadt treffen sollte. Ein unterirdischer Bunker mit einer Reihe von Tunneln sollte 25 neue, experimentelle Waffen enthalten, die auf London gerichtet waren. Die V3 war eine enorme Superwaffe, die entwickelt wurde, um explosive Projektilen abzufeuern. Die V3, Codename Hochdruckpumpe, wurde von Reichsminister für Bewaffnung und Kriegsproduktion Albert Speer entwickelt. Unter dem Kreidehügel in Frankreich lag, was Hitler sich als das Ende Londons erhofft hatte.
