Nascosto sotto terra nel villaggio di Landrethun-le-Nord, nel nord della Francia, si trovava un'arma destinata a colpire direttamente il cuore della capitale britannica. Un bunker sotterraneo con una serie di tunnel doveva contenere 25 nuove armi sperimentali, rivolte verso Londra. La V3 era un'enorme superarma, progettata per lanciare proiettili esplosivi. La V3, in codice Hochdruckpumpe, è stata sviluppata dal ministro dell'armamento e della produzione bellica del Reich, Albert Speer. Sotto la collina di gesso in Francia si trovava ciò che Hitler sperava rappresentasse la fine di Londra.
