Murs-et-Gélignieux ist eine französische Gemeinde am rechten Ufer der Rhône im Département Ain in der Region Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes. Der Fluss wird in Murs-et-Gélignieux für das Laufwasserkraftwerk von Brégnier-Cordon gestaut. Der Canal Brégnier nimmt die Hauptmenge des fließenden Wassers auf und leitet dieses der Grenze zum nordwestlich gelegenen Izieu entlang und dann durch Brégnier-Cordon, die südwestliche Nachbargemeinde. Murs-et-Gélignieux grenzt außerdem an Peyrieu im Norden, La Balme im Nordosten und Champagneux im Südosten. Eine örtliche Erhebung ist der Mont Tournier.
