Die Flamme der Freiheit wurde 1987 in der Nähe der Almabrücke in Paris restauriert und symbolisiert die Freundschaft zwischen Frankreich und den Vereinigten Staaten. Sie ist eine Nachbildung der Flamme der Freiheitsstatue aus vergoldetem Kupfer und wurde nach dem Tod von Prinzessin Diana 1997 zu einem Ort der Besinnung. Emblematisch und emotional aufgeladen, zieht sie Besucher aus der ganzen Welt an, die ihr mit Blumen, Gedichten und eingravierten Botschaften huldigen. Eine historische Ikone, die es in Paris zu entdecken gilt.
