Indem er aus dem romanischen und byzantinischen Repertoire schöpfte, schuf Charles Luciani ein neues Gebäude, ein Gotteshaus, das daran erinnert, dass diese Kirche die älteste der Stadt war. Ebenso ermöglichte ihm dies die Verwendung von dekorativen Elementen, die im Art Déco wiederverwendet wurden, wie die romanischen "Sägezahn"-Friese, Fischgräten, Zacken, Tafelmotive und stilisierte Kapitelle. Diese Kirche ist von großem symbolischem Reichtum. Das ursprüngliche Gebäude wurde während des Ersten Weltkriegs zerstört. Der Wiederaufbau wurde 1930 abgeschlossen.
