Description

Op basis van het Romaanse en Byzantijnse repertoire creëerde Charles Luciani een nieuw gebouw, een bedehuis dat eraan herinnert dat deze kerk de oudste van de stad was. Hierdoor kon hij ook decoratieve elementen gebruiken die opnieuw in de Art Deco werden gebruikt, zoals de Romaanse "zaagtand" friezen, chevrons, dentils, paneelmotieven en gestileerde kapitelen. Deze kerk is zeer rijk aan symboliek. Het oorspronkelijke gebouw werd tijdens de Eerste Wereldoorlog verwoest. De wederopbouw werd voltooid in 1930.
