Mont de Marsan
Mont-de-Marsan liegt im französischen Département Landes (Region Aquitaine) und hat 29.489 Einwohner (1999). Die Stadt gehört zum Arrondissement Mont-de-Marsan und liegt genau an der Stelle, wo die Flüsse Midou und Douze in die Midouze münden. Trotz der Tatsache, dass die Stadt nicht groß ist, spielt sie eine wichtige Rolle auf administrativem Gebiet. Es gibt viele öffentliche Gebäude aus dem 19. Jahrhundert, und diese Gebäude sind sehr gut erhalten. Der Ort verfügt auch über eine Pferderennbahn, auf der jedes Jahr verschiedene Pferderennen stattfinden. Bei diesen spannenden Pferderennen, die „course landaise“ genannt werden, kann man verschiedene Reiter (écartreurs) über Kühe springen sehen.
