In den 1970er Jahren wurden zwei aufeinanderfolgende Teiche von 4 und 5 Hektar im Tal des Gahet-Bachs in den Gemeinden Cessac und Courpiac am Ort "Laubesc" angelegt. Im Jahr 2009 stellte sich heraus, dass die beiden Dämme Funktionsstörungen aufwiesen, die zu ökologischen Störungen führten. Es wurde daher beschlossen, ein Projekt zu entwickeln, das auf einer Umwidmung dieses 4 Hektar großen Gebiets beruht und gleichzeitig den Schutz der Wasserressourcen und der Artenvielfalt, aber auch einen Interpretationsparcours des Naturerbes umfasst.
Das Angeln ist reglementiert und der Wiederbesatz wird von der Fédération Départementale de la Pêche verwaltet.
Der See ist für Spaziergänger geöffnet. Hunde müssen an der Leine gehalten werden.
