Das 1876 gegründete Museum ist eines der reichsten im Südwesten Frankreichs. Es befindet sich im historischen Herzen der Stadt in vier Herrenhäusern aus der Renaissance und zeigt ein breites Panorama der Kunstgeschichte: europäische Gemälde, Skulpturen, Möbel und Fayencen vom 16. bis zum 20. Jahrhundert. Das Museum ist berühmt für seine reiche Sammlung spanischer Werke aus dem 18. und 19. Jahrhundert, darunter Gemälde von Goya (das berühmte "Selbstporträt").
In den Sälen sind archäologische Funde aus dem Departement ausgestellt, darunter die unumgängliche Venus von Mas, orientalische Antiquitäten des libanesischen Diplomaten C. Aboussouan, und für die schönen Künste unter anderem Gemälde, die der Herzog von Aiguillon, Minister von Ludwig XV., gesammelt hat, europäische Gemälde vom 16. bis 19.
