Die Maison Ecole du Grand Meaulnes ist ein Zeugnis der Schule der Dritten Republik und gleichzeitig ein Ort der literarischen Inspiration: die immer noch lebendige Kulisse für einen der berühmtesten Romane der französischen Literatur. Alain Fournier lebte hier als Kind von 1891 bis 1898. Seine Eltern waren Lehrer an dieser Schule, in der er seinen Roman "Der große Meaulnes" ansiedelte. Seit 1994 befindet sich das Schulhaus wieder in dem Zustand, in dem der junge Henri Fournier es kennengelernt hatte.
