Das Netz der Mediatheken des Plateau de Montbazens hat den Auftrag, allen Menschen den Zugang zu Freizeitaktivitäten, Informationen, dokumentarischer Recherche und lebenslangem Lernen zu ermöglichen. Der Zugang zu den Mediatheken und Lesepunkten und die Konsultation der Dokumente vor Ort sind frei, offen und kostenlos. Das Ausleihen von Dokumenten setzt ein Abonnement des Mediathekennetzes voraus.
Die Dokumente können zwischen den Mediatheken und Lesepunkten zirkulieren. Das Netz organisiert regelmäßig kulturelle Aktionen.
