Der Dichter Paul Verlaine wurde am 30. März 1844 in Metz geboren. Sein Geburtshaus ist seit 2012 ein Schriftstellerhaus, das im Dezember 2019 als Maison des Illustres ausgezeichnet wird. Die erste Etage dieses wohlhabenden Gebäudes aus dem 18. Jahrhundert wurde zu einem Museumsbereich, in dem die Biografie, das Werk, der historische, literarische und künstlerische Kontext der Epoche des berühmten Dichters aus Metz behandelt werden.
Die Besichtigung kann selbstständig oder mit Führung ab 4 Personen erfolgen. Gruppenbesuche bis zu 19 Personen sind nach Vereinbarung möglich.
Empfang von Einzelpersonen, Familien und Gruppen für jedes Publikum und für Schulen von der Grundschule bis zur Universität. Es wird darum gebeten, Ihr Kommen mindestens 48 Stunden im Voraus anzukündigen.
