Der alte Vater (seine Statue). Laurent Kropf lässt die Statue in ihrem Einweihungszustand, d. h. noch mit einem Tuch bedeckt. Man kann eine menschliche Gestalt erahnen, die in einer heroischen Haltung erstarrt und von einer idealistischen Großzügigkeit geprägt ist. Es steht jedem frei, diesen alten Vater zu enthüllen und ihm eine Realität zu verleihen, die mit den Auswirkungen der Geschichte konfrontiert ist. Die problematische Statue steht im Gegensatz zur trügerischen Gewissheit des Denkmals. Sie ist nur eine geisterhafte Spur aus einer undefinierbaren Vergangenheit, die sich als dynamisches Rätsel in die Hektik der Gegenwart einschreibt.
