Ausgangspunkt ist ein historischer Ort, der Eduard von Woodstock, der 1369 den Beinamen "Schwarzer Prinz" erhielt, als Verschanzungslager diente. Diese ehemalige Bastion, die sich in der zweiten Festungsanlage des Schlosses Poudenas befand, im 16. Jahrhundert erweitert und später in eine Scheune umgewandelt wurde, wurde mit Leidenschaft wieder hergerichtet.
