Jean y Alix de Nadaillac se complacen en recibirle en esta casa rural que han acondicionado pensando en su comodidad, para que su estancia sea tranquila y descansada, y para que pueda descubrir Gascuña en las mejores condiciones, partiendo de un lugar histórico, que sirvió de campamento de atrincheramiento a Eduardo de Woodstock, apodado el Príncipe Negro en 1369. Este antiguo baluarte, situado en el segundo recinto fortificado del castillo de Poudenas, ampliado en el siglo XVI, y luego transformado en granero, ha sido restaurado con pasión.
