Rougemont war im Mittelalter ein Lehen der Herrschaft von Aschères, aber die beiden Gebiete wurden im Laufe der Geschichte oft in den Händen mächtiger Familien vereint. Jahrhunderts war Aubert de Pithiviers der Herr von Rougemont und Aschères, das seine Tochter Isabelle, die Frau von Guy de Nemours, erbte: Aus dieser Zeit stammt die hohe, befestigte Poterne mit ihrem großen spitzbogigen Tor, zu der man über eine Schlafbrücke gelangt. Der Rest des Herrenhauses wurde im 16. Jahrhundert von Charles Hotman, Maître des Comptes in Paris und Herr von Rougemont, erheblich umgebaut.
