Der Diskos von Phaistos , eine in Phaistos auf Kreta gefundene Scheibe aus gebranntem Ton, ist eines der bedeutendsten Fundstücke aus der Bronzezeit. Er ist mit kreis- und spiralförmig angeordneten Abstrakta, Menschen-, Tier- und Sachmotiven versehen, die mit einzelnen Stempeln eingedrückt wurden. Der Diskos stellt damit den ersten bekannten „Druck mit beweglichen Lettern“ der Menschheit dar, in dem Sinne, dass zum ersten Mal ein kompletter Textkörper mit wiederverwendbaren Zeichen produziert wurde.
