Das Dorf ist direkt neben diesem Lavafeld erbaut. Es scheint, dass die Lava an den Rand des Dorfes Kameni Chora geflossen ist. Aber aus historischen Quellen wissen wir, dass das Gegenteil der Fall war. Zuerst gab es diesen (vorerst) letzten Vulkanausbruch mit diesem Lavafeld als Folge, und dann wurde das Dorf gebaut.
