Der Ghisallo-Hügel ist ein Pass, der die Valassina mit dem oberen Teil des Larian-Dreiecks verbindet. Der Passpunkt, in einer Höhe von 754 m über dem Meeresspiegel, gehört zur Gemeinde Magreglio. Nur wenige Meter vom Pass entfernt befindet sich eine kleine Kirche: das Heiligtum der Madonna del Ghisallo. Ihr Name stammt von einem gewissen Ghisallo, der im Mittelalter an diesem Ort von Räubern angegriffen wurde und ein Gelübde an die Madonna ablegte, eine Kirche zu seinen Ehren zu bauen, wenn er entkommen würde.
