Die Villa wurde 1897 nach dem Entwurf des Ingenieurs Baraggioli auf Auftrag des Doktors Federico Demaria, Chefarzt des Krankenhauses von Ivrea und Ehemann von Angela Baratti, die zur bekannten Familie von Confiserien in Mailand gehörte, errichtet. Die Bauarbeiten wurden von der Firma Pilatone ausgeführt. Die Corso Costantino Nigra, an der die Villa steht, war damals eine der am stärksten vom Bauwesen betroffenen Straßen von Ivrea, da sie die Hauptstraße war, die über die Ponte Nuovo das historische Zentrum der Stadt mit dem Bahnhof verband.
