Die Villa wurde als elegantes Wohnhaus der Familie Rubino errichtet, einer Familie von Industrieunternehmern aus Biella, die im Bereich der Herstellung von landwirtschaftlichen Werkzeugen und für das artesanale Handwerk tätig war. Die Bauarbeiten wurden in den 1920er Jahren abgeschlossen.
Die Villa befindet sich in der Region Croce Serra im Gemeindegebiet von Andrate auf etwa 915 Metern Höhe. Sie bietet einen Panoramablick auf das morenische Amphitheater von Ivrea.
