La villa fue erigida como elegante residencia de la familia Rubino, una familia de industriales de Biella activa en el sector de la producción de instrumentos agrícolas y para la artesanía. Los trabajos de construcción se llevaron a cabo en los años 1920.
La villa se encuentra en la localidad de Croce Serra en el territorio municipal de Andrate a unos 915 metros de altitud. Goza de vistas panorámicas sobre el anfiteatro morénico de Ivrea.
