Mosta ist eine im nordwestlichen Zentrum der Mittelmeerinsel Malta gelegene Stadt mit 20.988 Einwohnern , deren Fläche bereits in der Kupferzeit besiedelt wurde.Mosta ist etwa neun Kilometer von der Hauptstadt Valletta entfernt und befindet sich an der Straße nach Buġibba. Das Umland liegt in einer für Maltas Verhältnisse fruchtbaren Ebene, die nordwestlich von dem Höhenzug der Victoria Lines begrenzt wird. Der Nachbarort Naxxar schließt sich unmittelbar nordöstlich an.
