Oss ist eine Stadt in der niederländischen Provinz Nordbrabant, gelegen zwischen 's-Hertogenbosch und Nijmegen. Sie ist der Hauptort der Gemeinde Oss. Die Stadt spielt eine regionale Rolle als Arbeits-, Wohn- und Einkaufsstadt. Die Stadt ist von verschiedenen Landschaften umgeben und liegt geologisch gesehen am Rand höherer, trockener Sandböden und niedriger, feuchter Tonböden, mit dem Fluss Maas in der Nähe. Obwohl Oss eine reiche Geschichte hat - in der Vergangenheit war es die Hauptstadt des Viertels Maasland der Meierij von 's-Hertogenbosch - sind nur wenige Überreste aus der Vergangenheit erhalten geblieben. Es gibt jedoch noch einige Denkmäler, die von der industriellen Vergangenheit zeugen.
