Stokkum ist eines der elf Kirchdörfer der Gemeinde Montferland, gelegen in der Gelderner Region Liemers. Stokkum liegt am Fuß des Hulzenbergs, der ein Teil des Bergherwaldes ist, auch bekannt als Montferland. An den Hängen des Hulzenbergs liegen die 'Sandhügel'. Stokkum hatte im Jahr 2021 1.175 Einwohner. Das Dorf besitzt eine alte Kornmühle, die Düffels Möl genannt wird.
