Nij Beets ist ein Dorf in der Gemeinde Opsterland in der niederländischen Provinz Friesland. Es liegt etwa 12 Kilometer südwestlich von Drachten. Das Dorf hatte im Jahr 2021 1.670 Einwohner. Durch das Dorf fließt der Polderhoofdkanaal. Nij Beets wurde 1863 von Torfstechern gegründet. Diese kamen um 1860 nach Nij Beets, um das Torf der Torfbauern abzubauen und daraus Torf zu machen. Offiziell lebten diese Menschen in Beets.
