Bereits im Mittelalter besaß Ossendrecht eine Kapelle, die sich oben auf dem Steilrand der Brabantse Wal befand. Von 1648 bis 1796 befand sich diese Kirche in protestantischem Besitz, bevor sie wieder an die Katholiken ging. Der Gottesdienst wurde ab 1801 wieder von der Pfarrei Hoogerheide übernommen. Die Reformierten erhielten um 1810 ihre eigene Kirche. 1842 trennte sich Ossendrecht als eigenständige Pfarrei von Hoogerheide.
