Ya en la Edad Media, Ossendrecht poseía una capilla, que se encontraba en la cima del acantilado de la Brabantse Wal. De 1648 a 1796, esta iglesia estuvo en manos protestantes, después volvió a los católicos. El servicio religioso fue llevado a cabo nuevamente por la parroquia de Hoogerheide a partir de 1801. Los reformados obtuvieron su propia iglesia alrededor de 1810. En 1842, Ossendrecht se separó como parroquia independiente de Hoogerheide.
