Die alte Kirche im Zentrum von Valkenburg ist klein, romantisch und wird bereits im dreizehnten Jahrhundert erwähnt. Lange Zeit (1633-1819) diente sie als Simultankirche für Katholiken und Protestanten.
Viele verschiedene Stilelemente verraten die zahlreichen Umbauten: Der Kirchturm gehört zu den ältesten Teilen, und die Handschrift des berühmten Architekten Pierre Cuypers und seines Sohnes ist im letzten großen Umbau aus dem Jahr 1904 zu erkennen. Die Kirche ist zu besichtigen.
