Koog aan de Zaan ist ein Dorf, Wohnort und eine ehemalige Gemeinde in der Zaanstreek, die 1974 in die Gemeinde Zaanstad aufgegangen ist, von der sie verwaltungstechnisch zwei Stadtteile umfasst. Koog aan de Zaan liegt zwischen Westzaan, Zaandijk und Zaandam und hatte am 1. Januar 2021 11.225 Einwohner. Koog aan de Zaan ist in zwei Wohnviertel unterteilt; Oud-Koog aan de Zaan und das relativ neuere Westerkoog. Westerkoog wurde früher, als der Stadtteil gerade neu war, umgangssprachlich auch 'Havezathe' genannt, nach dem damaligen Rotterdamer Projektentwickler.
