Das Residenzschloss Posen, heute polnisch als „Posener Kaiserschloss“ bezeichnet, wurde als einer der letzten großen Schlossbauten Europas im Auftrag des deutschen Kaisers Wilhelm II. nach Plänen des Architekten Franz Schwechten in den Jahren von 1905 bis 1913 im neoromanischen Stil erbaut.Während der deutschen Besetzung Polens betrieben die Nationalsozialisten nach 1940 den Ausbau des Posener Schlosses zu einer „Führerresidenz“.
