U 7 war ein deutsches U-Boot vom Typ II B, das im Zweiten Weltkrieg von der Kriegsmarine eingesetzt wurde.

Der Bauauftrag für das Boot wurde am 20. Juli 1934 an die Germaniawerft Kiel vergeben. Die Kiellegung erfolgte am 11. März 1935, der Stapellauf am 19. Juni 1935, die Indienststellung unter Kapitänleutnant Kurt Freiwald am 18. Juli 1935.
