Çayönü ist eine bedeutende archäologische Fundstätte in Anatolien. Sie liegt am Rande des Taurus-Gebirges, am nördlichen Ufer des Boğazçay, einem Nebenfluss des Tigris gegenüber dem Dorf Hilar , sieben Kilometer südwestlich von Ergani und etwa 40 km nordwestlich von Diyarbakır in der türkischen Provinz Diyarbakır.
Der Ort wurde 1963 entdeckt und zwischen 1964 und 1991 von Robert John Braidwood, Halet Çambel und Mehmet Özdoğan erforscht.
