Niğde ist eine türkische Stadt in der Region Zentralanatolien. Sie ist die Provinzhauptstadt der gleichnamigen Provinz Niğde und zugleich Verwaltungssitz des zentralen Landkreises dort. Der Kreis liegt im nördlichen Zentrum der Provinz und nimmt ca. 31 % der Fläche ein.
Die Kfz-Kennzeichen der Stadt und der Provinz beginnen mit der Ziffer 51.
Der zentrale Landkreis grenzt im Süden an den Kreis Bor, im Osten an die Kreise Altunhisar und Çiftlik, im Südosten an den Kreis Çamardı sowie an die Provinzen Aksaray im Nordwesten, Nevşehir im Norden und Kayseri im Osten.
