Ligist is a market town with 3,255 inhabitants in Western Styria, about ten kilometers southeast of the district capital Voitsberg. The Schilcher market Ligist is located in the western Styrian hill country at the beginning of the Schilcher Wine Road. The town itself is surrounded by hills where wine and fruit are cultivated.
