The route includes 4 hairpin turns, and the mountain pass is at an elevation of 1247 m above sea level. To the northeast, the road continues from Leutasch to Mittenwald in Bavaria/Germany. To the west of the Buchener Höhe lies the 2,662 m high Hohe Munde.
