The Northern Limestone Alps are the valley terrace of the Inn Valley near Innsbruck and Hall in Tyrol. It represents that part of the Tyrolean mid-mountain range that lies at the foot of the Karwendel Mountains. The Northern Limestone Alps is the slope shoulder of the Nordkette and Gleirsch-Halltal range, between Martinswand to the west and Vompertal to the east. It extends with a width of about 1–2 kilometers over approximately 25 kilometers in length, at an elevation range of 700 to 900 m, thus about 100 to 300 m above the Inn Valley.
