Seidlalm

The Seidlalm is an alpine lodge and inn located in the municipality of Kitzbühel in the Austrian federal state of Tyrol. It lies directly on the world-famous downhill course Streif and is considered the "birthplace" of the Alpine Ski World Cup. The Seidlalm is situated approximately halfway between the town of Kitzbühel and the Hahnenkamm. It is located in the middle section of the World Cup downhill track Streif between the sections Alte Schneise and Lärchenschuss. The race section Seidlalm is characterized by relatively flat terrain and features a long left turn that encircles the inn on the east to north side. The Seidlalm is located on the northeast slope of the 1391 m above sea level high Seidlalmkopf, which in the past was accessible via the Streifalm chairlift, and represents a northern spur of the Hahnenkamm. Neighboring alpine huts include the Niedere Streifalm, Zenzeralm, and Neuhausalm.
