This hike takes you along the Upper Högenweg (A8) from Alpbach to Inneralpbach, which lies higher and lower in the valley. It is therefore a somewhat more demanding variant than the one that goes via the Middle Högenweg (A7). It also goes a little further into the valley to the Buam chapel. From there, you return via Inneralpbach and the hiking/MTB trail (No. 321) and over the A9, across a wooden bridge over the river and the A4 path back to Aplbach.
The hike runs on paths that mostly follow the contour lines. So you don't gain as much elevation with this hike, making it somewhat less challenging.
Expect to walk for more than 2.5 - 3 hours without breaks.
