This hike from the Loferer Hochtal to the Von Schmidt-Zabierow hut (1.966m) is an impressive mountain experience.
From Lofer, follow the 311 and turn left into the Loferer Hochtal. The small road leads to a parking place from where the hike starts.
The steep path is marked 601 and leads upwards through a beech forest to the karst area from where you can catch a first glimpse of the Schmidt-Zabierow hut.
The mountain scenery is spectacular and very dramatic.
The hike from the parking area to the hut takes 4 to 6 hours.
