The Kauwberg is a semi-natural green area in Uccle in the Brussels-Capital Region with an area of 53 hectares.
The nature reserve is located east of the Sauvagèrepark and the Verrewinkel cemetery and includes, among other things, a former sand quarry, meadows, forests, and marshes. In 1994, the conservation organization SOS Kauwberg succeeded in having 22 of the 53 hectares designated as a nature reserve, and in 2001 the entire area was recognized as a green zone by the PRAS. The area is part of the forests and open spaces in the south of the Brussels Region, a habitat directive area of Natura 2000.
