At the end of the 1960s, nuclear energy was seen as the solution and the future. The Atomium, built for Expo 58, is one example of this. But did you know that during the Expo, there were also chickens roaming around the Expo grounds that were fed irradiated corn? This was believed to make them stronger and lay more eggs.
