The Golden Mandeke

The Golden Mandeken is a brown pub with a rich history. Once, the building was part of the Great Meat House. In another life, North African cuisine was served there. But for the last thirty years, in addition to a block of cheese, a snack, and a coffee, beer has mostly been served. The Mandeken has recently been run by Yo, who is supported by a team of experts with years of café experience, both in front of and behind the bar.

The café has a diverse clientele, ranging from Spanish and German tourists who wish to pay separately, noisy Dutch people, and decadent Russians to regular patrons who have their own tabs. Just like the clientele, the seating options are also very diverse. At the bar, one can quickly strike up a conversation with the regulars or staff, while in the main room, one can take a seat at one of the nine tables. Those who take the stairs will end up on the first floor where long tables cater to larger groups. Romantic souls can sit by the colorful windows that overlook the Meat and Vegetable Market. Those who prefer to sit under the open sky can find a spot on one of our terraces, both at the front and the back.
