The pigeon tower is a small tower in the town of Lo in the Belgian province of West Flanders. This pigeon tower was built in 1710 on the grounds of the Saint Peter's Abbey. The tower has 1132 compartments at the top where pigeons were kept. At the bottom of the tower, other animals were kept, such as pigs.
According to legend, the newly elected abbot Patricius Fraeys went to Rome. His monks asked him if they could prepare a surprise for his return, which turned out to be this tower.
