The Tangebeek Forest is an old park forest with alder marshes and poplar plantations that are gradually being replaced by mixed deciduous forest with Common ash, Black alder, English oak, Norway maple, Hornbeam, Beech, Willow, Birch, Rowan, Bush honeysuckle, Hazelnut, and Hawthorn.
Survivors from the park era include a number of non-native trees and ornamental trees, such as Sky tree, Giant silver fir, Weeping willow, Yew, Hemlock spruce, California cypress, and Robinia. In the herb layer of the Tangebeek valley, one can find both typical forest species and rough herbs.
